So, I love mask-ing but I am now at a point in my life where I want to #maskandchill but only with masks that actually perform, masks that pack a punch. I’m no longer doing it solely for relaxation and DIY spa days at home because I’m still basking in my youthful glow.

I’m looking to practice self-care, take care of hormonal acne and random breakouts when my skin decides to go haywire. I’m also always on the lookout for a mask that can smooth out my skin and assist in getting my skin back on track after some pretty rough days or nights.

Indie Lee’s Clearing Mask‘s (1.7 oz, $60) description according to the brands website is:

“Deep cleanse, soothe and nourish the complexion with this gentle yet effective treatment mask. Salicylic and Glycolic Acids work to exfoliate dead skin cells. Bentonite Clay and Colloidal Sulfur help to gently draw out impurities. Zinc Oxide, Chamomile, and Red Seaweed extracts ensure skin is left calm, reconditioned and hydrated.”

Upon my first trial of this mask, my skin was noticeably smooth and exfoliated after washing it off. I didn’t have any active breakouts the first time I tried it, so I was not blown away by this mask initially. I was like um… I can definitely get these kinds of results with just about anything.  So it was just, eh.

However, the real magic occurred when I was able to test this mask out when I had this pretty inflamed spot on my chin. It had come to a head so I decided to use this mask as a spot treatment and within ten minutes it had burst and drained without any assistance on my part.

So at this point, I realized that the drawing power of this mask was truly undeniable, but I have only noticed this level of drawing power when a blemish has come to a head and not for any spots that have not.

Indie Lee’s website claims this mask also assists with oil control but I have not noticed a reduction in the amount of oil my skin produces since using this mask.

This mask applies pretty easily with a brush and a thin layer is all you need to get the most out of it, so I truly see this jar lasting me quite some time. Its consistency is more like a creamy paste and appears chalky on the skin but is not stiff or drying although it is not hydrating either.

I love that this mask isn’t the kind that tightens on the skin allowing me to go about my business comfortably while wearing it. It also does not leave your skin feeling very tight afterward. Each time I have removed this mask my skin has appeared visibly clearer and fresh.

I believe this mask is not only for those of us that prefer masks with clean ingredients but it’s a product that’s for anyone with the occasional breakout and especially for those that suffer from chronic acne. I was actually quite surprised at how well this mask performed…

I wasn’t expecting this mask to work as quickly or effectively as it did, but it is safe to say that this mask will now be my go-to mask for spot treating. It’s definitely a weapon against active breakouts that you need to have on standby at ALL TIMES.

I also read a ton of reviews on different sites before purchasing this, since it is not cheap, and I have to say I can see why the reviews are so favorable now.  Have any of you tried this? What is your go-to mask for problem skin?
